Aberdeen Man and Woman Arrested Following Drug Task Force Investigation; Suspicious Device Recovered

ABERDEEN, Wash. — Detectives with the Grays Harbor Drug Task Force, assisted by officers from the Aberdeen Police Department, executed a search and arrest warrant April 15, 2026, at a residence in the 1000 block of Arthur Street as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.

According to investigators, detectives conducted multiple controlled purchases of illegal drugs from two individuals believed to be operating out of the residence. A 29-year-old Aberdeen man and a 28-year-old Aberdeen woman were arrested at the scene and are each facing multiple counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance.

During the search of the home, detectives also located a suspicious device, prompting a response from the Washington State Patrol Bomb Squad. Authorities reported the device was safely removed from the area without incident. Additional criminal charges related to the device are expected to be referred for consideration against the male suspect.

According to the Grays Harbor County Jail Records, Charles Matthews is currently being held on 2 charges of VUCSA Manufacture/Delivery Incendiary Devices, Nicole Ellis is being held on 2 charges of VUCSA Manufacture/Delivery.

Officials say the investigation underscores ongoing efforts to address illegal drug distribution within the community.
