Aberdeen DUI Driver Tries To Evade Police, But Failed.

Police across the state have stepped up their game after changes to the no pursuit law have been made, especially where dangerous DUI drivers are concerned. The Aberdeen police Department says in a social media only post that they stopped such driver on the evening of April 3, 2024, at approximately 8:28 PM.

Aberdeen, WA - April 4, 2024 - On the evening of April 3, 2024, at approximately 8:28 PM, Aberdeen Police Department initiated a pursuit of a suspected DUI. A 42-year-old male was arrest for attempting to elude a police officer, DUI/reckless driving and threats of violence. A passenger was also in the vehicle, and no one was injured.

An Aberdeen Patrol Officer attempted to stop the vehicle for a suspected DUI. Upon attempting to stop the vehicle, the driver attempted to evade apprehension, engaging in erratic driving behavior, and exhibiting signs of potential impairment.

The vehicle led officers north on B Street before leaving the city limits. The pursuit culminated on a private drive, where the male subject attempted to evade capture by crashing through a gate leading to private property. The suspect fled on foot and was apprehended moments later.

Upon apprehension, the subject exhibited physical symptoms consistent with drug use and faces multiple charges, including kidnapping in the second degree, felony harassment, attempting to elude a police officer, unlawful possession of a firearm and driving under the influence.
